reviews:

*Anneliese Van Der Pol at Feinsteins, 54/Below

The first was a duet with Arielle Murphy on the Craig Carnelia-penned "Flight" full of harmonies, though, as van der Pol herself noted, "none of which I did correctly.” Regardless, the pair proved to be a skillful comedic duo, trash-talking one another and going for broke during the night's funniest bit.

*Mabel- Pirates of Penzance- LMM

To the credit of director Bill Gelber, the present production also is assured cheers and ovations, as stars Arielle Murphy and Jeff Smith deliver tantalizing vocals throughout as calendar-crossed, would-be lovers Mabel and Frederic. Gelber's stars are double threats: capable actors who sing, and trained vocalists with natural stage charm. Smith and Murphy are especially impressive in the "Stay, Frederic, Stay!" number that finds Mabel desperately trying to hold Frederic away from his past.
